Shouldn't lawyers be disqualified from?

Holding positions in the legislature since it is a clear conflict of interest for them to make laws that they will profit from in litigation.And isn't it something that theb one profession Jesus actually gave a blanket criticism to was lawyers. They were just as corrupt back then as they are now.
