Why do SOME guys in movies like girls that "swoon" and faint at the drop of a hat?

I prefer a strong leading lady. (Julette Lewis-Natural born killers, Baby- Devil's rejects ect.) Come to think about it, I haven't seen to much of that ridiculous behavior going on lately. Finally, women are being portrayed as capable, competent, brave, Its only taken 60 years to break stereotypes. And I am a male noticing this, scary huh
