Orchids/ Long Question/ What am I doing Wrong??

i can suggest you many things to try and to think about. put your plant in a bathroom where it can get some periodic humidity, use a spray bottle of water to spray the leaves daily which should get rid of the bugs, or put the plant in a terrarium. that will help conserve water and keep the plant warmer than the air throughout the year. many plants become dormant in the winter by the way. i'm not real sure about 'direct sunlight' on your particular orchid but since these are normally parasitic plants and they thrive off of others, it would seem that they are best in shade or minimal sunlight. your plant may be dieing in the root system, ie root rot or there's a fungus or bacteria that might also be attractive to the tiny bugs. you might clean off the roots and place it in a new clean soil and wash away the bugs before placing the plant in a new soil/pot/terrarium. good luck
